from A. Martinez, Hostos Community College, dated September 13, 2009:

Hello Ms. Padilla,

How are you?  Just writing to say hello and to thank you again for the wonderful experience at the gala award event.  I haven’t stopped talking about how wonderful it was and hope to encourage other female students to become part of the experience as well.  I look forward to the events in december and will like to tell you that I would be delighted to help out in anything I can within the organization.  I apologize if I haven’t had an opportunity to contact you lately but I have been a bit flustered with school work and the kids, which is why I haven’t had the opportunity to e-mail you.  I will do my very best to keep you posted on everything I do throughout the semester.  In addition, I will like to express my sincere gratitude for, allowing me to be part of such a wonderful opportunity.  This opportunity has encouraged me to want to succeed more and I assure you, that I will not let you down. I really appreciate and treasure all your advice and look forward to your wonderful guidance for many years to come.
With sincere respect and appreciation,
A. Martinez

from D. E. Rodgriguez, University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras, dated June 26, 2009:

Saludos Sra. Atentamente, D. Enid Rodriguez.

English Translation:
Greetings Mrs. Padilla and all of the board members of the NYLPW.  Congratulations on  your website.  Its design is very nice.  I was a college award recipient in 2007 and I would like to thank you again for everything.  I am still studying Chemistry in the University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedras campus and preparing to take the MCAT in order to apply for the School of Medicine of said university.  I encourage everyone to support this organization that helps Puerto Rican women as myself who struggle against all odds in order to suceed in today’s society.  I am truly thankful to the NYLPW, and I am determined that when I reach my educational and professional goals it will be I who shall one day be able to help other Puerto Rican women as you have helped me.  In union there is strength.  God bless you all.
Sincerely, D. E. Rodriguez
